The site won't allow me to create an account.
Very old versions of browsers lack the features necessary for our user accounts. We recommend upgrading your browser to benefit from modern standards and increased security.
Why is profile image customisation unavailable?
Currently, custom profile pictures are only available to users who sign in using their Facebook account.
Why can't I change my [Display Name]/[Username]?
In order to prevent abuse, there is a limit on the number of times these can be changed. In special circumstances, we can lift the restriction.
How do I delete my account?
Go to your account settings and click on the relevant link to delete your account. Then follow the instructions.
I've signed in on a new device and my Dark Mode setting has changed from my previous session.
Your Dark Mode setting isn't saved to your account. It's device specific.
Why do signed-in users see fewer adverts?
We get it, adverts are annoying, but they're also necessary. However, if you're a dedicated user, we show you fewer ads as a thank you.

Do you have [specific detail] about a car?
If the information isn't displayed on the website, we don't have it.
Can you add [car name]?
If you think we've missed a recent car release or you'd like us to add an older car, give us a nudge and we'll see what we can do. We can't make any guarantees, as some cars (and manufacturers) are very difficult to find official specs for.
I work for [car manufacturer]. Can you add our car?
Yes! In fact, we'd love to! Send us all the relevant details of your car, and we'll gladly add it to the site.
What cars do you have on the website?
We try to have every car that is and was sold in United Kingdom or mainland Europe. There are many cars to add still, and some may never be added because it's either too time consuming to gather all necessary data, or there's not enough interest to warrant adding it. We also have some notable cars that were never officially sold in U.K. or mainland Europe. We hope to add more of these in the future.
Where do the technical specifications come from?
Much of our data is acquired through our relationships with manufacturers. However, some data is gathered from the manufacturers' official public documentation, both online and off.
How accurate is the data?
We do our best to provide accurate information, but even the manufacturer spec sheets occasionally have errors that we spot. If anything slips past that you notice, please report an error. Please also note, the specifications are based on the European version of a car. Often the specs are the same worldwide, but sometimes there are local differences which won't be indicated on this website.
Can I use the data I find on this site?
Any use of content found on this site must be in accordance with our terms. Thanks 👍.

What is the encyCARpedia Rating?
We know that top speed, power etc. isn't the be-all and end-all, but all the specs combined give a good indication of how a car performs at various tasks. That's why we created the encyCARpedia Rating. As long as the required specs are available, it creates separate ratings for 'Performance', 'Environment' & 'Practicality'. It then creates an overall rating using all three ratings, but giving more weight to the intended purpose of the car.
Why isn't the Camera AI available?
Our Camera AI is only made available to compatible devices.
Do you have a high quality logo to download?
Yes. We've created a zip file with various sizes of logo which can be downloaded here.
Do you have an API?
We don't have a publicly accessible API. However, if you have a project that could make use of our extensive data, please get in touch, detailing how you intend to use our data. We may be able to create a bespoke access package for you. Please understand that a minimum commitment of GBP 150,000 will be required of you.

How can I advertise on encyCARpedia?
We don't currently have any advertising packages available. We're part of the Google Display Network, so you can target this site using the Google Ads Display Network placement targeting feature.
